Engraving for the Penturner
Engraving on a pen can be quite tricky. First, all the normal
engraving attributes must be observed. The engraving must be straight.
Everything must be spelled correctly. And, the correct font must be used. In
addition to these things you must be sure of the placement of the engraving.
Some want the engraving done on the cap, others on the barrel. Some want it on
both.
Once all this is attended to you must then make some judgment
call on the power to engrave with. Too little and the engraving will seem week
and washed out. Too much and you might cut into the brass tube.
Now we have to consider if the design will wrap around the
curvature of the pen. If so, then we must figure out how to rotate the pen, just
the right amount, as it is engraving. The smaller pen will require a different
rotation than the larger pen.
Add to this the fact that you only get one shot. It's all this
judgment and experience that you are paying for, not for the cutting of the
letters or the design.
We have been engraving pens for our customers for over 2 years
now and think that we can do an excellent job for you on your next project.
Remember a couple of things:
1) We would much prefer that the finish be applied to the pen
before we get it. That way the pen is clean when you get it back with no
refinishing to do.
2) If possible, it is easier for us if the pen is not yet assembled. If it is,
that's OK. It is just easier if it is apart.
3) We can use any font you find, however some fonts, because of their
"bulkiness" do not lend themselves to pen engraving.
4) We never charge for shipping. We will return your pen to you free.
5) We can usually turn your pens around in about 2 days.
Color Fill? Yes we do color filling and on some pens it is really
outstanding. You pick the color and we will fill it that way.
Our Pricing:
We charge $5.00 per pen for engraving. This includes all logos
and lettering. If both barrels are to be engraved please contact us. Quantity
discounts are available for 10 or more pens. Please contact us for quantity
